Business and IT leaders have the same challenges – choosing the right Video Conferencing Tool to support their team.   With the pandemic wreaking havoc with traditional business models companies need to quickly decide what technologies do they invest in to support a remote, mobile workforce, a workforce that will require new communication tools to make them competitive in today’s environment.

For many leaders, that conversation started with video meetings as the only way to replace face-to-face meetings.  Should you follow the herd and go with Zoom?

Since you leverage Microsoft enterprise-wide, do you go all-in with Microsoft Teams?

If you utilize G-Suite, is Google Meet the answer?

Business leaders know that if they don’t unify the business’s tools, it will create confusion, and productivity will decline.  Different divisions of your company might prefer other solutions and lack of standardization will also drive up your cost.

I have worked in the unified communications market for 15-years for a leading unified communications providers RingCentral, 8×8, Fuze, and Avaya, and most recently as a unified communications expert with CDW Corporation in Chicago, IL.  CDW partners with all the major communication providers, including Microsoft, Cisco, Zoom, and Google.

My employment with CDW offered me the opportunity to consult and advocate for clients in an unbiased role.  My team developed surveys & tools that provided a CIO roadmap to digital transformation. We baseline our clients’ existing communication tools to assess what solutions they would require to support a remote workforce, and unify phones, video meetings, messaging, and chat.

For video meetings, the market has shifted from GoToMeeting (now LogMeIn) and Cisco WebEx to Microsoft Teams versus the new Wall Street darling ZOOM.

So, which solution is the best for your business?  Well, without having met you to learn more about your business, the short answer is we don’t know (yet).

Where do we go from here?  We have a simple, straightforward process to assess your current solutions versus Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

The first step for you is no doubt about market research. But don’t sweat it, we have done all the research for you. And this isn’t info you will find on the web.
