Why would your offer your services for free?

While I offer my services to you for free, the service providers I will collaborate with pay me “Finder’s Fee” as commission for my expertise. Also, I am incentivized to continue to support you and your team because I get paid an Ongoing Commission. Therefore, it is in my best interest for me to ensure you get satisfactory services.

What are the service providers you work with?

I work with leading business communication service providers such as Zoom, CDW, Microsoft Teams, GoToWebinar, WebEx, RingCentral, 8x8, and more.

Does a cloud-based collaboration solution have good call quality?

If the solution is set-up correctly, yes the call quality will be great.

How long does it take to implement a cloud solution?

In as little as 24-hours, the Provider can set up your solution using softphone and desktop applications with a local phone number.  To port (transfer) your existing number, that process takes approximately 10-14 business days.

How much does a cloud-based collaboration solution cost?

It depends on the subscription package and the features and integrations that you require.  An average seat license is $20 per user/month and includes phone, chat, video, and messaging.  For larger, more competitive deals the price can range anywhere from $10-$15 per seat.

Can I use my existing phone handsets with a cloud-collaboration solution?

More often than not, your current phone handset won’t work with a cloud solution. The exception is if you are moving from one cloud provider to another chances are the phones will work.  Most of the Providers will include a compatible handset via rental, purchase, or in some cases free.

Can I keep my current phone numbers?

Yes.  But before you sign a contract, you should ask the Provider to confirm the rate center to ensure your phone number(s) can be transferred. This is especially important to check you numbers in more rural areas.

Which Provider has the best cloud-based collaboration solution?

That depends on the situation that best fits your needs.  The top Providers in the industry are RingCentral, 8x8, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. But our experience is there are many lesser-known niche providers that are doing an excellent job.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Generally to get the best pricing you need to sign a minimum 1-year agreement. Most Providers offer a FREE month of service for each year of service that you contract for.

Is the solution plug-n-play like the Providers say it is?

It is to an extent.  You can plug the phones into your current internet connection and make and receive calls.  But to set-up the system to get the full productivity features there is work on your part to get the system up and running.  You can do it yourself, or you can hire an expert like us to guide you before, during, and after the installation.

How can I determine if my network can support the solution?

We recommend performing a voice readiness test to ensure your network is ready to support VoIP.  You should run the test from any location where you plan on using the service.

Can the solution work in a home and a physical office?

Yes, it absolutely can.  The solution is designed to work from anywhere, offering you the choice of using a physical phone, an app for your smartphone, or a desktop client.  The system offers flexibility per user and preference.

Is this a software solution or does it also require a phone handset?

It is a software-based solution and does not require a physical phone.

Can I integrate the cloud solution with Microsoft Teams?

Yes, many of the top Providers allow you to integrate their solution with MS Teams.

Does a cloud-phone solution function like my current PBX phone system?

Yes and No.  A Cloud solution will offer more flexibility and functionality versus an on-premise system but there are a few phone system features that you may have come accustomed to that don’t work on a cloud solution.  Contact us to learn which features you might lose.

Does a cloud-phone solution replace my phone lines?

Yes it does. The cloud solution works over the internet and bypasses the local telephone company.  The exception is certain applications like your alarm system should stay on traditional phone lines.

Does a cloud-phone solution work with my voice T1 PRI?

No it does not.  The T1 can be canceled when you move to a cloud collaboration solution.

How does my alarm system work with a cloud solution?

Most alarm system companies require that you keep the alarm system on regular phone lines.

Does a cloud-collaboration solution replace or work with my current contact center solution?

Chances are if you are replacing your phone system, you will also need to replace your contact center since the two are more than likely tied together.  The good news is all the major cloud phone providers offer a cloud-contact center solution.

What is UCaaS?

Unified Communications-as-a-Service. A UCaas Solution allows you to unify your phones, video meetings, messaging, and chat via one Provider delivered over the internet.

What is CCaaS?

Contact Center-as-a-Service.

What are the fees and taxes associated with a cloud-collaboration solution?

Most of the Providers will include the regulatory fees in the quote.  The most common fees are the regulatory recovery fee and the e911 fee.  The fees are applied by extension or seat subscription.  In addition to the fees, you will be responsible for local taxes which vary depending on your local state taxing authority.  Your tax rate will greatly differ depending on how your Providers is classified by the state, federal, and local regulatory agencies.
